sue

My friend Sue said this today and I thought it was the most lovely and gracious thing I've heard in a little while.

"I am more interested in truth that being right. I find that the older I get the less certain I am about almost everything."

That's the truth! The older I get, the less certain I am about everything I was taught about religion as a child. You begin to question it all. And that thing about sitting too close to the tv making you go blind or cross-eyed or something. I don't think that was true, either.

I am feeling less certain about a lot of things too as I deal with my past. It is scary to question the ‘faith’ I was raised in, but I find that the more I question it the more it actually becomes faith, and it makes me feel I’m more of a whole and honest person.
