the christian agnostic

I found this article by David Dark, Insert Soul Here. I appreciate him so much. It almost scares me how much he is able to say the things I've been thinking, but says them much better, and I'm so glad he's getting other people thinking too. And incidentally the article after his is an interview with Dave Bazan.

I'm reading this now. I love where he said "as if God is counting on us to keep ourselves stupid, closed off to the complexity of the world we're in - I'd like to argue that we don't have faith in God at all. We have faith in our own faith rather than the God who transcends it."

I love that.

...and Yes again. The current Pope, when he was a Cardinal, wrote about faith only surviving in a sea of doubt. It is only as we question that or faith grows.

I found his thoughts on letting go of "the burden of certainty" particularly interesting. Perhaps if we allowed for more vulnerability and humility in that area, then our relationships with each other and with Christ would be deeper and more fulfilling.
