I told this girl in my office that I want another tattoo and she sent me this email that said
"'You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.’ - Leviticus 19:28
Read it!!!! Look whose talking - I am the best or worst sinner around..."
I wrote back
"That's a good point. But Leviticus says a lot of other things like, you have to wear two kinds of cloth woven together, you have to cut the sides of your hair, and follow the laws concerning purity during your period. Do you avoid eating fruit or grain harvested from the edges of the field? Do you rise when an elderly person enters the room? If you do all that you should by all means not tattoo yourself but with regard to others you should not hold a grudge against any man for tattooing or anything else (also Lev 19:18).
:) "
Do you have mixed feelings about emoticons like I do? I feel they are necessary sometimes but using them makes me feel a little ashamed.

This reminds me of the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode of when Larry's mother dies and he finds out that she had a tattoo on her ass. Because it is against the Jewish faith, she has to be buried in a special area along with the convicts and suicide cases. Funny episode!
What is your tattoo of? Where did you get it...as in where on your body?
i say if it's not in the 10 commandments then we're good to go. if we can't simplify then we're all going straight to hell.
Amen! I love Leviticus. So full of insanity that when someone throws something at you (like homosexuality being a sin) there are plenty more nuggets in there which the moralistic twat does not abide by, so you win the argument.
How long ago did you send that? I wonder if she has the balls to reply!
I agree with your feelings on the use of emoticons.
Leviticus is just GREAT.
"If a man has carnal relations with a female slave who has already been living with another man but has not yet been redeemed or given her freedom, they shall be punished but not put to death, because she is not free.
The man, moreover, shall bring to the entrance of the meeting tent a ram as his guilt offering to the LORD.
With this ram the priest shall make atonement before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and it will be forgiven him."
I love the fact that so many people will use the bible to judge others....gotta love that. He who is without sin..blah blah blah. I have four tattoos. They are visible, but not in your face. If people see them, they see them. I didn't get them for other people to see, I got them for me. You go for it and do what you want. As for all the rest of us sinners, I'll see you on the other side, enjoying yourself and having a blast.
