This day is so hard. The end.

I am sorry this day is so hard for you. I don't know the reason why, but you are a wonderful mother...I can tell from your pictures and your posts and your blogs. Everytime I see posted pictures of your kids, smiling and laughing and eating something sweet and delicious, I think of how lucky they are to have you for a mother and I hope I can be as loving and creative as you! If you can just keep your head up a little longer, this too shall pass. It is one of the hardest truths in life to remember.

You are working out the gospel in your life because this day is hard. It is hard because you care, and aren't satisfied with broken things. You long for redemption and I am here to remind you that life and love are the winners in the end. When you stop caring and when it stops hurting is when apathy and cynicism have won. Don't give up and continue to choose love. You're doing great.

Sorry it has taken me so long to comment (and after the event) but life here has been rather hectic.
This side of the pond we celebrate Mothering Sunday on the middle Sunday in Lent which, sometimes, was my mother's birthday. (for more information see Maggi Dawn's blog here http://maggidawn.typepad.com/maggidawn/2006/03/refreshment_sun.html)
Since my mother died (4 years ago) I have found the service difficult particularly as, in our church, flowers are given out at the end of the service for children to give to their mothers regardless of age and I now just sit there.
I, obviously, don't know your full situation but you are being held in prayer.
God bless
